Transfer Games ROMs Bios And Other Files To Batocera Using iPhone

This Is A Quick Guide On How To Transfer Files To Batocera via iPhone. No Computer No Cables Needed.

 

*You MUST be connected to the same network/WiFi Connection On BOTH devices.*

Step 1: Enable public web access in Batocera

  • On your Batocera device, navigate to the system settings.
  • Look for an option that says “public web access” or something similar.
  • Enable this option.
  • After enabling, reboot your Batocera device. This is usually done by selecting “Restart System” or “Reboot” from the main menu.

Step 2: Access Batocera from your iPhone

  • On your iPhone, you’ll need an File manager app that can access network devices. A recommended app is “FTPManager”.
  • Open the FTPManager app and find its ”+". This is usually found in the top right corner.
  • After taping "+" Tap SFTP.
  • Enter the host name root@batocera.local
  • If prompted, enter the username and password for your Batocera device. If you haven’t changed these, the default username is usually “root” and the default password is “linux”.
  • Once connected, you should see your Batocera device appear in the FTPManager app. Tap on it to access its files.

Step 3: Copy the games to Batocera

  • On your iPhone, navigate to the location of your games. This could be in your iPhone’s local storage or in a cloud storage service like iCloud Drive or Dropbox.
  • Select the games you want to add to Batocera. This is usually done by long-pressing on a file and then tapping “Select” or “Copy”.
  • Navigate back to your Batocera device in the FTPManager app.
  • Navigate to the “userdata” folder, which is the “share” folder in Batocera.
  • Find the appropriate subfolders for your games. For example, NES games usually go in the “roms/nes” folder.
  • Paste the games into these subfolders. This is usually done by tapping “Paste” or “Copy Here” in the FTPManager app.

And that’s it! You’ve now added games to Batocera using your iPhone wirelessly. Remember, it’s important to only use games that you own and have the legal rights to use. Enjoy your gaming! 🎮
